Newsletter Autumn 18. Dear Yoga Friends,

Dear Yoga Friends,

Recently while taking stock of life, where I am, and where I am going, I discovered two things; I want to work closer to home, to be more accessible for my family as much as possible, simplify. Second, I want to spread my wings more than ever; I want to travel further, explore more, learn more, shake it up more.

With that, my new academic year holds a few wonderful shifts: more classes and workshops closer to home; more retreats in further far-flung destinations!

New hobbies include horse riding, fermenting, dancing and dead-lifting ;-)

Dublin friends, I am launching a weekly meditation class in Ballyroan Community Centre following our Thursday morning yoga class, 10.30-11am, for both yogis and non yogis alike. Sit on yoga mats with that post-yoga glow, or join us in normal clothing to sit on chairs, everyone is welcome!

Monthly workshops in Dublin are lunching Saturday September 15th with Handstands! 2-4pm in The Park Community Centre. Fill that delicious gap in the weekend and prepare yourself for a Saturday night well-lived, whether it’s on the couch or on the dance floor!

This winter I will be joining Exotic Yoga Retreats in Mexico. Xinalani is an intimate and secluded seaside eco-resort, a little paradise island in the sun. Huge gratitude to Gayle, my dear mentor and friend, for this amazing opportunity. Retreats next year will include Verbier, Italy, and a few little surprises coming down the line, perhaps a funky European City or two to experience a yoga and culture weekend, more on that to come. Retreats this year include my favourite: Umbria, Italy for yoga mixed with Italian joie de vivre, healthy hedonism!

Local weekly community classes are continuing as always.  Classes run year round and I have a vibrant tribe of wonderful teachers who cover for me when I travel. Huge gratitude for these kindred spirits who share my love of yoga, and search for excellence in every aspect of the care of my dedicated following of students. Huge gratitude to my students, your commitment to your practice is what makes us so special.

Still new, still growing, and ever-fascinating, I am teaching corporate meditation classes. I am very grateful to my Corporate partner, McNulty Performance, for the opportunity to teach bespoke classes to commitment, accomplished professionals at the top of their game, always open to new ways of thriving.

Yoga Hub Teacher Training continues to evolve as Matt and our diverse team of vibrant teachers learn and grow and improve upon what can only be described as a life-changing experience for our lucky Yoga Teacher Trainees.

Lunchtime yoga classes in RTE and Facebook are ongoing. Thank you, Mother Nature, for another amazing summer of outdoor yoga on the beautiful lawns of Montrose and the grounds of Our Lady’s Hospice. Thank you to the adventurous yogis who joined me for a summer of outdoor yoga in Marlay Park; we have started something special that will continue for more summers to come.

Renew Yoga and Nutrition is a half-day event taking place in The Lecture Hall, Christ Church, Rathgar in aid of Save the Hellfire. Saturday 13th October, 9-1pm, everyone is welcome. Focus on the day is on wellbeing; yoga and nutrition to aid digestion. Healthy snacks and a goodie bag, you will come away radiant! Tickets can be purchased here

Pause and reflect at the turn of the season, yogis. Keep it simple. Look at what’s working well and do more of that. Keep it juicy. Shake it up and adventure more, life is fun! I hope to see you on a mat soon.

Namaste,

Sylvia.
